Our school is staffed with caring, nurturing, state-certified and college-educated professionals. Our experienced teachers are dedicated to making each child feel safe and special here at M.V.C.D.S. We strive to offer the best care and education possible. Our teachers attend many workshops and trainings throughout the year to learn new ideas and keep up to date with changes in the Early Childhood field. Our school has been through 2 NAEYC accreditations, and CSFFEL training. Our school and teachers were awarded an AEYC award of excellence in 2011. Teachers are certified by Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and certified in CPR and first aid. We have a history of low turnover and we keep low teacher to student ratios in each classroom.
Mrs. Kristi, Director Mrs. Kristi has a long history with MVCDS. She attended MVCDS as a young child when her Uncle was the director. Years later, at the age of 15, she started working as an aid when her mother was teaching here and serving as the assistant director. Mrs. Kristi took some time off to attend Eastern Nazarene College and start her family. She returned in 2003 and has loved teaching, directing music programs, and leading special event and Bible story times before becoming Director in 2022. Mrs. Kristi has always had a warm, inviting, and nurturing classroom and is grateful for the opportunity to support the teachers, children, and families of MVCDS as director. Ms. Robinson, Office Manager. Ms. Robinson has been with us for 20 years. She does everything from snack/meal planning, to bookkeeping, to handling tuition payments, to assisting teachers when needed in the classroom. She is always available to answer any office related questions you may have. She is a valuable asset to our school. Ms. Robinson attended Hesser College for 2 years - Business Management Major. She has worked in the administrative field for over 20 years as an Office Manager/Bookkeeper/Project Coordinator.
Ms. Shannon, Lead Infant and Toddler Teacher. Ms. Shannon has over 15 years working with young children. She is patient and loving with the young infants and toddlers. Her classroom is always bright and colorful and filled with many open ended activities. Ms. Shannon gives lots of attention to each child to make them feel loved and safe. She is great at communicating with parents and making sure to establish a trusting relationship with the family.
Ms. Donna, Lead Preschool Teacher. Mrs. Donna has over 10 years experience in early childhood. Her warm, loving, affectionate personality makes her perfect for helping the young preschoolers adjust to school. Mrs. Donna has a special gift for making all children feel special. Her classroom is always filled with laughter, fun and creativity. With her endless open-ended art activities and sensory play, there is never a dull moment! Mrs. Donna has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and is Lead preschool and infant/toddler teacher certified.
Ms. Sasha, Lead infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher. Miss Sasha started here as a Co-op student from Greater Lowell Technical High School. She is now infant toddler and preschool teacher certified and has her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood. She is continuing her education at Salem State. Miss Sasha is very loving and patient with the toddlers and young ones. She is fun and energetic and loves to do art activities and play games with the children to get them up and moving. She is great at getting the young toddlers to explore and use their imagination.
Ms. Izzy, Toddler/Preschool/PreK Teacher. Miss Izzy is lead infant/toddler and preschool certified and has one year left for her Bachelor's degree at Fitchburg state. She worked with us over the past few years on during her college/school breaks and summers and we are so happy to have her full time now! She is fun loving and creative and loves to dance, sing and do lots of art and sensory activities with the children.
Ms. Kelsey, Preschool Teacher. Miss Kelsey works with us during the summer and on college breaks. She is pursuing a degree in Child Psychology at Eastern Nazarene College and is preschool certified. We love having Miss Kelsey whenever she is available! She is loving and patient with the children and loves doing music and movement activities with the young ones.
Ms. Ashley, Preschool Teacher. Miss Ashley is a college student, and works with us on her school breaks. She is fun loving and caring, and loves to do many art, music and math activities with the children. We look forward to her having her back every summer!
Ms. Riley Preschool Teacher. Miss Riley has been with us for one year and loves playing with the children in centers and making up fun games to play in the gym. She helps make sure our classrooms are stocked full of supplies and is always helping a teacher when needed. We love having her here with us! She is now taking college classes to become certified!
Ms. Taylor, Assistant Preschool Teacher Miss Taylor just started with us and we love her! She loves to play with the children in art and block area. She helps the teachers out wherever needed and we are super grateful to have her at MVCDS.
Our teachers are both highly professional and loving. As a team, our teachers strive to meet the individual needs of each child. Teachers stay in constant communication with parents about their child's progress. They post weekly curriculum, daily class news, and send progress reports three times a year. Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled twice a year. All of our teachers are readily available to answer any questions or concerns.
